The Community and Research Network (CARN) is a network of health professionals, health consumers, researchers and interested community members, seeking to share their expertise and experience to promote good health and wellbeing for the community of the Greater Geelong Region. CARN’s membership is broad, spanning across research groups, health providers, community organisations and consumers. Some of CARN’s current member organisations include: Deakin University, Barwon Health, GMHBA, City of Greater Geelong, Rotary Districts of Australia, The Anxious Bird, and GenU Training.
Last year CARN launched the Student Seminar Series. If you haven’t been before, these seminars give up-and-coming researchers a chance to share their work outside of academic circles, and the rest of a chance to hear about the next generation of research: from thunderstorm asthma, to how nutrition affects our mental and physical health. Each seminar features two students sharing their research, without all the frills and jargon of a usual research presentation.
Join us at 12.30pm on 17th March to hear from our very own Student Liaisons, Bonnie Beasant and Eslam Ahmed, who will be sharing their work and discussing the art of sharing research with the community. Register here and follow us on Facebook or our website for future session announcements.
